Changes and improvements of interior and exterior
New MDX has come underpinned with the same platform as before, but this time and improved too. 2016 Acura MDX is now lighter than its predecessor. This is mostly because the usage of lightweight materials. This weight reduction has improved general performances of the vehicle. Powertrain and handling
Under the hood of the new Acura MDX we will find the 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine. This power unit is capable to produce 2901 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with Variable Cylinder Management. This way engine runs only three cylinders and it causes better fuel efficiency. New Acura MDX is now available with both super handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) and Front-Wheel Drive. Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive uses a twin-clutch rear differential which now ensures even more stability. Acura’s engine is now paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
