Bigger and more powerful than before the new 2016 Hyundai Tucson is ready to hit the showroom floors and show its new performances and powerful look.
Redesign of interior and exterior
In some markets the 2016 Hyundai Tucson’s predecessor has used the name ix35. However, this time the new model will be called Tucson and it will be made in Czech Republic and Korea. Also, U.S. versions of the new Tucson will be supplied from Asia. The 2016 Hyundai Tucson will be built on the new platform and its exterior will suffer many changes and improvements. Its appearance is going to be more sporty than before. On the front part of the vehicle we will find new hexagonal front grille. Headlights will be now reshaped and thinner. With this new cat-eye look the new Tucson will get aggressive touch. Like the front part, the rear part of the car will suffer some modifications too. Taillights will be reshaped and powered with LED technology. LED lamps will be integrated on the sides. The new Hyundai Tucson will look bigger than before. This is because of the tall hood and square-set front profile. It is interesting that it will be just 2.6 inches longer than its predecessor but it will certainly look bigger than that. Interior of the new model will be equipped with many new standard and safety features. Some of the safety features will be: lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, prevention system, rear-view camera and many more.
2016 Hyundai Tucson powertrain
According to the sources two power options will be available under the hood of the new Tucson. The first one is a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine capable to produce 164 horsepower and 151 pound-ft of torque. This engine comes matted to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Its fuel consumption is set to 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. As the second option comes a new turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder power unit. This one is capable to produce 175 horses and 195 pound-ft of torque. Its fuel economy is expected to be 26mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The new 2016 Hyundai Tucson will be available with both AWD or FWD system.
