2017 BMW X3 – REDESIGN, RELEASE DATE, CHANGES

At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, BMW’s confirmed that the third generation of its compact luxury crossover X3 should arrive sometime in 2016 as 2017 BMW X3.

Exterior and interior design and changes

The first X3 model was launched back in 2003 as the market’s first compact luxury crossover, and it has been updated in 2010. According to some rumors, the new crossover’s body won’t receive significant changes. If we compare it with its predecessor, the new 2017 BMW X3 will come with redesigned front and rear bumpers, with larger front air intakes, new side skirts and some more. New model couldn’t be noticed without new powerful tires. So the new BMW X3 will get and new wheel design, with fatter and more powerful tires than before. Also, some sources say that the new BMW’s luxury crossover should arrive in some new unique colors. Same thing will happen with the cabin of the vehicle too. Interior of the vehicle will almost remain the same, but with some interesting changes and updates. Inside the cabin we will be able to see a sportier steering wheel and Merino leather dressed sports seats. The dash will come in a Nappa leather and with a specific instrument cluster. The new 2017 BMW X3 will feature the latest standard and safety technology features and gadgets. Some of these features are: Park Distance Control rearview camera, 4-zone automatic climate control, premium surround system and many more.

Under the hood of the 2017 BMW X3 we will probably see the same turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six power unit. This engine is capable to deliver 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. With this drivetrain the new X3 will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just five seconds. Top speed will be electronically limited at 155 mph. The new BMW X3 will get the BMW’s brand-new 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission mated to an xDrive system.

Release date and price

Like we have already said, the new 2017 BMW X3 should arrive sometime in 2016. Its price is still unknown, but some sources predict it should be around $60,000.
