The third generation of Hyundai’s new luxury sedan, the 2017 Hyundai Equus, is scheduled for release in 2016, and it may appear at the New York Auto Show.
Exterior and interior changes
The new 2017 Hyundai Equus is said to be inspired by the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan. New Equus will ride on stretched version of the BH platform. With the use of high-strength steel and aluminum the new Equus will be lighter than its predecessor. The new Hyundai Equus will get a bit of a German design. Interior of the vehicle will be made of f the highest quality materials, and it will come with some interesting changes. New vehicle will offer two different configurations for the rear. The base one will include three-passenger bench with some standard features and a retractable armrest, while the other configuration will offer two individual seats separated with center console and equipped with bunch of newest features like display screen, refrigerator, one or two retractable footrests and many more. These things you will probably associate with German brands. Like we have already said, new Hyundai’s sedan will be inspired by the latest Genesis. This will affect Equus’ profile lines, chrome grille, shape of the headlamps (Hyundai’s Vision G Concept) and some other exterior things.
2017 Hyundai Equus powertrain
We wonder what we will find under the hood of the new 2017 Hyundai Equus. Most likely it will be an updated version of Hyundai’s 5.0-liter V8 engine which has been used on existing model. It has been also rumored that there will be one more engine option available. We are talking about a twin-turbocharged version of Hyundai’s 3.3-liter V6. This engine may also be held back until the vehicle’s refresh in 2019. New Hyundai Equus will get an 8-speed automatic transmission, while in the future it will be replaced with a 10-speed auto. New Equus will be available with RWD and AWD system.
Release date and price
The 2017 Hyundai Equus has been scheduled for release in 2016. Its price is expected to be around $60,000.
